Frequently questions

 

THIS WILL BE MY FIRST TIME TO TAKE A CLASS AT DAILY BREATH PILATES, SHOULD I DO A PRIVATE SESSION FIRST? 

 

If you have never taken pilates classes before, we recommend a private session. A Pilates teacher will introduce you to the practice and the equipment used during full length classes. After this he/she can help you to decide what type of class and how often you should come during the first month, also if you are ready to start group classes or if you need more privates. 

 

We also offer a virtual Fitness screening test to personalize your fitness goals. These types of tests can be quite helpful in developing a complete understanding of current health. Call us to schedule yours at (805)298-6679.

 

If you are familiar with Pilates Method you can start with group classes.  Classes are 50 minutes in length. If it’s your first time, arrive at least 10 minutes ahead of class so that the instructor can give you an intro to the machine. The workout is done wearing grippy studio socks. I’d also recommend wearing leggings or at least longer shorts. 

 

CAN I DO EVERYDAY?
 
Pilates is a form of moderate strength training and challenging Pilates workout will breakdown muscle, thereby promoting the build up of stronger muscles. However, a big difference between Pilates and regular strength training is that in Pilates we are also working toward body/mind integration and educating the body to move more efficiently. To this end, Pilates workouts will emphasize things like awareness, functional alignment, breath and co-ordination. This multidimensional approach gives us the opportunity to shift the focus of our workouts, making it possible to do a safe and interesting workout everyday. FIND YOUR RHYTHM.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE A SESSION?
 
We have an easy to use and extremely secure software system to assist you in reserving a session. We recommend all of our members get familiar with our automated online booking system here on www.dailybreathpilates.com. It is the easiest, fastest, and most accurate way to book classes. Simply create a user name and password, and use it to schedule, purchase and track your visit history. If you forget your password or need more information, please send us an email.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS A CLASS?
 
Due to the limited number of spaces available in each session, all group classes require an 12-hour cancellation notice and all private sessions require a 24-hour cancellation notice. Unlimited memberships will be charge $15 for a late cancel and $20 for a no show if a class is not cancelled in advance of the noted cancellation period. Group packages and monthly packages will forfeit their class if a class is not cancelled in advance of the noted cancellation period.

WILL MY SPOT BE GIVEN AWAY IF I AM LATE TO CLASS?
 
Yes. It is very important to arrive on time as a respect to the studio and other clients. Many times, clients will drop in to see if someone doesn’t show allowing them a space in the class. If you do not arrive on the scheduled class time, your space may be given to someone who is waiting. Be sure to sign in to class so we know you were present!
